Company profile:
Lars Holm founded Lars Holm Shipping A/S (LHS) in 1963, but family traditions in the shipping industry in Tromsø and northern Norway go back much further than that. The original company, 'Otto Holms Sonner', had a long history in seal-hunting, fishing, shipowning and shipbroking prior to the formation of LHS.

Today, with a loyal and experienced staff of 14, LHS is actively involved in the sea, land and air transport sectors. Warehousing, stevedoring, forwarding and customs clearance services are provided, and LHS also represent the liner agency services to Denmark, The Netherlands and the UK as well as several coastal lines, including a summer service to Svalbard/Spitsbergen.

LHS has always been closely involved with the fishing industry in Tromsø, particulary for cod exports to Portugal and Spain. The company also serves the local industries and consumers in northern Norway for imports and exports.

In 1996 a separate company, Holm Agency A/S (HA), was formed specifically to meet the growing demand for customs clearance services and port representation in Tromsø from Russian trawler and general cargo vessel owners.
